Mark K.

While other kids were flipping through comic books, Mark was thumbing through the glossy pages of Life and National Geographic. It was around that same time that he and his younger brother pooled their paper route money to buy a Kodak 44 Instamatic. It was Mark's first camera, and he was instantly hooked.

For years, Mark worked in commercial photography as an account representative and company manager. He had the opportunity to work with some of the best photographers in the industry, and as a result, acquired a great deal of knowledge and understanding of the film and digital process. However, the business changed and Mark was drawn back to what he have always loved doing-shooting images.

Mark is passionate about capturing and preserving memories through images, and loves taking photos that are spontaneous, emotional, and timeless. He has studied (and experimented) extensively to combine knowledge with what his eyes see and heart feels. For Mark, just about every waking hour is a photographic exercise. He is continually examining the people and world as if looking through his lens, creating a photograph.

Mark is continually working to improve his craft and give back to the community. He had multiple self assigned photo projects, writes two blogs and volunteers for three community photo organizations.

Mark lives in Clarkston, with his wife, daughter and multiple animals.
